Acrylic glass lettering (PMMA) with metallic surfaces is a popular option for 3-dimensional lettering. Thanks to our more than 50 years of experience in plastic injection moulding technology, we can decorate the surfaces of the lettering with metallised foils. The surfaces can be designed to be glossy, matt or brushed. Our example ‘JOOP!’ is finished with a matt silver foil. Here too, the self-adhesive lettering is delivered in a template to ensure the exact positioning of the individual elements.
The elements are manufactured using a laser without any tools. This means that the cut edges are always vertical. Slanted facets to enhance the 3D effect are therefore not possible. The edges thus appear in the selected acrylic glass base colour. White, black, silver bronze and gold bronze are the most frequently chosen base colours and therefore also edge colours. In principle, all other available solid-coloured acrylic glass (PMMA) sheets can also be used. With a few exceptions, the material thickness (excluding the adhesive) is approximately 3 mm. For the colours white and black, we can also use thicknesses of 1 mm and 2 mm, which are more suitable for smaller dimensions, as the material thickness is better suited to the line thicknesses that are usually required. Our ‘JOOP!’ sample is based on approx. 1 mm thick black acrylic glass. The original size here is approximately 90 mm x 22 mm.
